History and Theory of Landscape Architecture

Research in history and theory of Landscape Architecture plays an important role for the future development of Landscape Architecture and Design. That's why Udo Weilacher initiated the position of a Junior-Professor on "History and Theory of Landscape Architecture" (20th century), the first position of this kind at the Faculty of Architecture to reinforce the research capacities of the Landscape Architecture program at the Technical University Munich. For six years, the Chair for Landscape Architecture and Industrial Landscape is financing this special position out of its own resources and offers the necessary office space to give a young colleague the unique chance to develop her own research and teaching profile. Additional financial support comes from the University and the Faculty of Architecture.
PhD Stefanie Hennecke, formerly at the Berlin University of the Arts, started her position as the new Junior-Professor on "History and Theory of Landscape Architecture" at the TU Munich in November 2010. She will independently research and teach for 6 years at the Faculty of Architecture, mainly in the landscape architecture program.
